It’s great to be able to share these business portraits of Jeremy Frost. He has rather an interesting job – or seemingly range of them – being Anglican chaplain at Maritime Greenwich and joint co-ordinating chaplain for the University of Greenwich. He’s also chaplain for the Chapel of the Old Royal Naval College, where he uses his musical experience from his former job as Precentor and Liturgist at Canterbury Cathedral. Jeremy commissioned his business portraits after a consultation, where he explained he wanted a number of photographs to use in his Greenwich roles and separate musical projects.

We shot most of the portraits around Greenwich and its riverside walks, ending at the Old Royal Naval College itself for its gorgeous columns and stonework. Here are a selection of photos from our session.

Rendah and Paul’s guests started their day at the Punch Bowl in Mayfair’s Farm Street, then moved down a few doors to the cool of Farm Street Church. Rendah arrived slightly early in a white taxi with her dad, wearing a Temperley dress and Jimmy Choo silver snakeskin slingbacks. After the ceremony and some family group photographs, Rendah, Paul and I took a black cab to Tate Britain to have some photographs on its steps in the gorgeous sunshine, before going to Altitude 360 in the Millbank Tower. Altitude is a stunning white and light space that was such a pleasure to work in. Rendah had set up a sweets table, which some of their young guests immediately took to … it was also a success with many of the older guests!

Rendah gave a speech alongside her dad, best men and new husband. One of my favourite photographs from the day was of her speech when she is looking at Paul, talking about her father being such an inspirational force in her life and just the three of them are in the image.

Rendah and Paul’s wedding photos are displayed below in a modern album design to reflect their day.

Please click on the thumbnails below the main photograph to see individual album layouts.

Monica wanted some casual photos of her family taken in the park near their Wimbledon home to capture where her children spend so much of their life, as well as having a more formal portraits for a grandparent’s 80th birthday present.

We started with a family group.

Then moved onto the important task of Jedi warfare.

Next up, some running along favourite paths and scooter action.

The games don’t stop: girls versus boys in trying to get to the other side of the square without being caught.

A hill means running, if you’re a small boy.

I last saw Peter and Amanda several years ago when their son Henry was a baby. Now they have baby Sasha and Henry is very much a young man, seriously interested in sticks, transformers and investigating locked gates. We got together this morning before his school sports day in Dulwich, taking some relaxed family group photos. Children are usually a delight to photograph anyway, but when they are playing and cuddling with the rest of their family, it’s really special. I often wonder how treasured those photographs will be in the future for the children themselves.

Photographer friend Helen Bartlett ran London Marathon yesterday and we estimated her ETA about the 10-mile mark, at the end of Deptford High Street. I took a camera – theoretically to photograph her – but as it turned out, missing her completely in the busyness that is tens of thousands of runners. Here are a few of the day. I found out, through the wonder of Twitter and Facebook, that the person inside the bear outfit for Action Medical Research was a fellow photographer from Southampton – Lee Collier (twitter id: @LeeCPhotography). His Twitter stream showed he survived the marathon day.

These two guys are brothers, raising more than £3000 for Action for Kids.

There was at least one casualty from the day.

Afterwards, I went to the nearby Gallop Cafe for some Monmouth Coffee in their art installation style eatery. One of the owners joked yesterday to customers that they used whatever they had to fit it out – “like Wombles” – but the effect is very lovely, clean and chic with items on each white table: mine had a white toy Ferrari and a David Ogilvy biography hardback. The cafe has a miniature film booth behind a hidden door and is hosting this month’s Deptford Film Club. The coffee was delicious – had to have a second cappuccino – the cakes looked scrummy and the bread and jam received a huge approval rating from the little girl with long eyelashes sharing a table: she demolished a plateful, leaving her mother a very tiny piece after much negotiation. Thanks to local blogger Deptford Dame for the tip-off about Gallop.

Here is a full blog of Ruth and Bruce’s engagement portraits on the South Bank. What was especially fun with the shoot was the randomness that strangers can create in portraits. Much of the time, strangers are very polite and will wait for you to take a photograph before they walk in between you and the subjects, which can be lovely, and sometimes it’s just fun if they don’t see what’s going on and just want to whizz by on their scooter.

One of the locations featured in these portraits is an absolute fave for Bruce and he was very excited when we were there. If you think you might know which location and perhaps why, do please post in the comments – I’d love to hear from you.
