Nicoletta and Steve’s photographs from their wedding at The Dorchester have now been edited and I’m so excited about them. In Nicoletta and Steve’s working lives with a design company, they’re used to briefing photographers and sent me references of the kinds of photographs they most liked as well as explaining which of my work they felt would capture their day best. It meant I was able to best tailor their photography. Here is their day, with their baby daughter Ava.

Catching up on posts from last month – and here is Maria and Anton’s wedding with their son Leo, who I had photographed about a year ago as a ‘bump’ and then as a newborn. Maria and Anton’s wedding was at Westminster Register Office at the Old Marylebone Town Hall and Leo chose this week to start walking.
After the ceremony itself, the registrars suggested that Anton bring his bride over to the table where they would sign the register – a suggestion he took literally.
Maria, Anton and their guests went a few minutes down the road to Orrery, also in Marylebone for lunch and we took some time out for portraits.
Maria and Anton’s friends had baked a beautiful loaf for them to have with salt and vodka to start their married life.
Here are the rest of the selection of photographs from the wedding of Diya & James last month. It was incredibly difficult choosing a small selection, firstly because they were such an affectionate couple, secondly, because Diya’s family were such characters, even greeting us outside the Lansdowne Club when we returned from their portrait session with cigars and thirdly, because we had a good amount of time set aside for portraits in the sunshine.
After a dusting of snow on the morning of the wedding of Diya and James, they were still up for an outside portrait walkabout in the afternoon sun. Here’s a single from our walkabout. Yes, it was still cold … and yes, she has goose bumps. There’s a LOT of editing to do from the rest of their day and when that’s finished, I’ll post many more. Marsha and Anton married today in what has been a whirlwind week with Anton also accepting a job in Moscow and their son, Leo starting to walk. I first met Marsha about a year ago when she had a maternity session, then we photographed Leo when he was about a week old, along with his parents and baby things. Their ceremony was at Westminster Register Office, followed by lunch at Orrery in Marylebone High Street. Here’s a single from their wedding … and it was so very difficult to choose just one.
Here are a selection of photographs from Marsha and Ivan’s wedding at the Four Seasons Canary Wharf earlier this month. They had the most stunning weather, which showed up Marsha’s dress and and accessories a treat.
Then it was time for Marsha and Ivan’s ceremony, with her step-sister handing over their rings on a white cushion.
After a quick glass of champagne, we caught the very last of the day’s winter sunshine for some outdoor portraits … Marsha on her own and then with Ivan.
Then we popped inside to use some of the wonderful interiors.
After a number of family group photographs, it was time for dinner with stunning table decorations reflecting a winter wonderland, as well as Marsha’s Russian heritage in the form of bread and salt which were ready to be broken and eaten at the start of the meal, along with a shot of vodka.
Their meal was followed by a selection of speeches from many family members who had played important roles in their lives.
After a break, when Marsha changed into a second dress, she and Ivan had their first dance – a choreographed latin routine.
It was a wonderful, wonderful day with strong and visible family bonds; this comment seems fitting to post as their final photograph.
I quite often photograph midweek register office weddings with the couple and a few guests, loving the innate intimacy. It also means that we can do some portraits – especially if the couple is about to move to Canada and wants to capture the London-ness of their ceremony, with black cabs, red post boxes and double-decker buses … and did I mention rain and umbrellas? Here’s one photograph from Anna and Rob’s wedding yesterday as they were walking down the stairs at Bluebird to their afternoon reception.
I posted two photographs from Yu-wei and Richard’s wedding last month which were going to be put on display at their overseas celebrations. I wanted to share some more from the day, now that they are edited. Yu-wei and Richard had a small celebration with family at Islington Register Office then we spent an hour or so on an Islington walkabout portrait session.
They both saw each other beforehand, allowing us time for some portraits at Islington Town Hall.
Yu-wei had the most wonderful vintage style wedding dress that suited her so incredibly well. Her bag was a vintage item that she already had in her wardrobe – it went beautifully.
Then their families arrived and it was time for the ceremony, followed by congratulations and then we left on our portrait walkabout session.
