Fright & Delight

Tonight was charity fund-raiser Fright & Delight at the Reform Club to benefit Cancer Research UK. On the way to Pall Mall, I found myself at Charing Cross station with a group of football supporters, surrounded by police and four barking police dogs. The police cleared about half the concourse so that the supporters & themselves could walk from the train platform to the underground.

In nearby Trafalgar Square, I had a look at the new fourth plinth sculpture by Thomas Schütte – Model for a Hotel 2007. At night, it certainly looks amazing – really fun and beautiful. It’s photographed here with Nelson’s Column & with the London Eye in the background.

Fright & Delight’s charity night had a Hollywood theme – there was some serious dressing up and glamming up. Welcoming guests were a great Marilyn Monroe lookalike and a human statue of an Oscar (his name was really Dave & he’s spent the day eating chocolate croissants for a fast food commercial).

The Greenwich Phantom - LOVE the pic with Nelson’s Column! And Marilyn – looks like it could be a paparazzi shot from the 50s. Nice one!!
